Wooh hoo, a new Position...

It has been a while since I have actually blogged, I am so excited for this new year at work. The Principal that I worked at Bellshire is coming to Cane Ridge! I loved working with her. I really wanted a pre-K position when I worked with her, but they were all filled so I took the Special Needs Positon, which is what I wanted at the time, especially after I went in and visited the room and their sweet faces. I got really attached, but I could not work way out in East Nashville and live in Murfreesboro, so I asked for a transfer as close as I could get to Rutherford County and still be in Metro. By word of mouth I got put out at Mt.View which was the Lord I know! It is literally almost in Lavergne. I worked there for 2 years I have worked a one on one postion and I worked in a full on classroom setting like I did at Bellshire. I have to say I love it, and love my job. So I knew thanks to dad that my old principal was coming to the new elementary school Cane Ridge, which is opening this year. I really wanted to go to a new school just opening, and I wanted to try Pre-K, but I did not want to burn any bridges at Mt. View which I loved just as much. I decided not to call or take matters into my own hands, and just to let the Lord work it out, if it was meant to be that was where I would go. If I was meant to stay at Mt. View with my special needs kids that was ok too. Much to my surprise my dad got an email from my old principal asking specificly if I would be interested in any positions and said she had thought about me. I was shocked I knew the Lord had to be in and trust me I had prayed! Of course I said yes, to jump at the chance of working with her again and it was a pre- K position she had. I was sold! So amazing how the Lord just works things out perfectly when you give him the chance! That is what my Lord did for me!! Well I really need to jump off of here, our Revival is next week and I have been slacking so bye for now.

Back To Life ... Back to Reality

We got back Sat. night from Florida, we had a great time. I almost hated to come back except I really missed church and Travis. Mason had a blast and so did I. It was good to get away for awhile, went by way too quick, but every minute was worth it. I will give you a run down with many pics as soon as I can. We arrived at about 7:30 Sat night then Sunday we pretty much stayed on the beach and relaxed at the condo. Monday more beach. Tuesday we were ready to get out so we went to ZooWorld they had just about every animal you could imagine except for an elephant and zebra. The giraffe came right up to us and let us feed him or her, it was too cool! Wednesday we went to GulfWorld saw dolphin shows, sea lions, parrots, penguins, ect. Thurday beach day again we went to eat later that night and hung out at Pier Park which is PCB'S version of the Avenue. Friday beach all day, pool then more shopping. Sat. we were coming home. The week flew by too fast. I got Mason to hold a hermit crab while he was down there, I was proud of that. The water was really calm, clear, and blue, beautiful. My dad gave me a scare on Wed. morning I had a fear on me to go ahead and get up with him and Mason. He had some issues lately with his blood pressure. He took a big drink of water and I guess it went down the wrong way, next thing I knew he had passed out, fell, hit his head on the hard tile in the kitchen. I was so scared! I hollered for my mom and then preceeded to do the only thing I knew to do, to keep talking to him and pray. He came out of it real quick. He got over it alot quicker than I did, and he had a huge goose egg on his head, but other than that he was ok. So thankful the Lord was there with me I know it could have been alot worse! I came back with a good tan, atleast on my arms and legs I was excited about that. It has been so long since I have had a tan, a natural one anyway. All in all a great trip, would not trade the memories for anything! Hope evryone has a great week! I will post the pics as soon as I can!!

What A Weekend!

Ok, took me awhile to post and get back into the swing of things. This past weekend we went down to Chattanooga to see my sister in law, brother in law, and nephews. They are growing up so fast! The youngest is so hilarious. He says the funniest things! The reason it is so funny is because he is NOT trying to be funny. He is being as serious as a heart attack when he tells you something. Seriously I have to try so hard sometimes not to laugh in front of him, he thinks if you laugh you are laughing at him, but at any rate I will make a list of the funniest things that popped out of his mouth while we were there.

1. Me: ''I love going to church don't you?'' Garrett: ''Aunt Amber you must not get out much.''
2. Garrett : ''My dad hit a siamese cat, I imagined it was Aspen.'' (This was funny b/c he said it just out of the blue. My cat's name is Aspen and everytime Garrett comes over he tries to get her to have something to do with him but she refuses and hisses and smacks at him so there you go.)
3. Reta: '' Yea I think Greyson is finally starting to grow into his looks.'' At which Garrett starting laughing Garrett: ''HA HA, I can't wait to tell him that." ( This was so funny b/c Reta threw in the finally she knew Garrett would love it and take it and run with it.

All in all it was a wonderful trip! We went down there to to go West Cove church, it is beautiful inside and out. I had a great time! Really got to feel the Lord while I was there and lay hands, it was a wonderful feeling!!

We got back Sunday night in time for church, it was a short service, one of our members got into a terrible car accident, flipped his vehicle several times. Luckily he is doing better and will be ok his leg, ankle, and foot are in pretty bad shape, but if you would have seen in the truck you would be amazed he walked away alive! So blessed I am sure he will have a beautiful testimony to tell when he makes it back to church, so many prayers answered!

Scary

The second thing I always thank the Lord for when I pray is the safety and good health of my child. Today he took a spill, fell, hit his head on the coffee table, then hit the floor. Luckily my husband was there. Mason immediately started crying, but then had a hard time catching his breath. I told my husband to blow on his face to try and distract him. After 10 seconds he was non-responsive, and went limp (arms and legs). All of my nursing practice fell short and of course I panicked this was not just someone's child, it was my child. My husband was the one to stay calm and shook him, rubbed his face, called his name several times. He finally came to, it was not over 15 seconds, but scary in the least. I called my mother-in-law, then Travis and I tried to decide whether to take hime to the ER or call our doctor, by this time he was up running around playing and acting like normal. I waited about 30 minutes, then went ahead and called our Dr's office to talk to a nurse practioner, to see whether to take him in to get checked out or wait. We called and talked to the practioner who asked a series of questions all the answers was no and I felt alot better. She said to just keep an eye on him through out the night and touch him ever so often to see if he will arouse while asleep, All of which I knew was the protocal for the type of injury. It was just so different because it was my child. I am just so thankful he is okay and that I had Travis there to calm both of us down!
